    I've just started my own group here on Gather, it's called Shattered Pieces of Mind. I started it in order to get submissions for a litmag that I want to publish for my local area. Feel free to check it out and join up if you're interested! Any creative minds welcome!



    I am an aspiring young writer.. I've just recently started writing short stories, Pink and White Flowers got me hooked on writing.

    I wish that in school my teachers had been more supportive and allowed me to stray out of the bounds of "writing prompts." Those really killed the whole writing experience for me. Ah well, better a bit late than never, right?

Megan, I would never suggest my poetry for a literary magazine. I'm not that accomplished as a poet. Is the magazine published on the internet? What does it cost? Maybe I can get a feel of the type of material that is published. I'm improving :) Maybe I'll get there.

I think I'm OK with the Gather changes. I was only just becoming familiar with the previous incarnation so the changes didn't throw me too much. I'm sure we'll adapt to the new format.

Keep in mind that anything I say (good or bad) will be just one person's opinion. Starting out in writing is one of the toughest things there is. When I get discouraged, I remember a quote from Richard Bach, "A professional writer is just an amateur who didn't quit."

No I was being serious. When I'm sarcastic, it's usually very obvious, and in italics or something, a lot of my writing is satirical so yeah.
